Life B.C. I worked as a RN for over 30 years and have experience in all aspects of nursing including; general theatre, accident and emergency, gynecology, general medicine, general surgery, spinal injuries, pediatrics, community, psychiatric, geriatrics and practice nursing. Over the years I had become increasingly disillusioned by the National Health Service in general, which to my mind was deteriorating. The community section appeared more concerned about having the correct forms completed and submitted on time, than the patients having time spent with them. Even the hospital standards seemed to be slipping. I was ready for a change! Mark qualified and worked as an electrician in the UK, (and had traveled extensively) then left the trade, to concentrate on running the Family Antiques and Furniture business, which he did for 20 years. We had both become fed up and frustrated with the way England was rapidly changing, not I am sad to say, for the better. Images of child murders, rapes and pedophiles made daily news, not to mention the drug related deaths and crime. Then their were the general day to day living expenses, heating bills, council tax, vat, TV licence and ever increasing petrol prices. Our hard earned money just went out quicker than it came in. And it was always so cold, sat in the house with the central heating on in August! But the main reason we moved from the UK, was because we just didn't feel safe any more, not to be able to walk home from the pub, not to let the kids walk to school or the shops, not go anywhere and so you become a prisoner in your own home and for me, unfortunately even that wasn't safe - I was attacked!
